So you’d prefer to step out after dinner, rather than settle in for the night? That’s cool! Koh Samui offers quite a number of activities to engage in after dinner for a fun night, and we’re happy to recommend a few.
Now if you’re ready, follow along as we take you on a journey of discovery during which you’ll find out things you can do, as well as places you can go, to have an exciting night on the famous, tropical island of Samui.
1. Visit the Fisherman’s Village
Previously home to a thriving fishing community, the Fisherman’s Village in Bo Phut is picturesque, charming and, of course, lively. What makes it so is the variety of bars, shops, restaurants, clothing stores and more, to be seen along the beach road, in addition to the number of tourists and shoppers thronging it – especially on Fridays.
So when you visit this location you can just walk around and explore the night market; talk to people; listen and dance to live music; watch art shows; have a drink at one of the beachfront bars; or shop around for souvenirs.
And, if at some point you feel like taking a little something to supplement your dinner, you can always treat yourself to delicious food at any of the multi-cuisine restaurants in the area.
2. Check Out the Cabaret Shows
Koh Samui is famous for many things, not the least of which is its colorful and entertaining cabaret shows. To catch a show with dazzling costumes, music, and dance performances, head to Chaweng or Lamai.
In Chaweng for instance, there’s the Starz Cabaret which delights visitors with a blend of traditional Thai dances, Western pop songs of Ariana Grande, Beyonce and others, plus Bollywood-style and belly-dancing.

There’s also the Paris Follies Cabaret where you can enjoy a 1-hour show featuring lots of humor and exciting dance routines by buxom and lightly clad dancers; and the Divas Cabaret offering three very entertaining ladyboy shows per night at 08:30, 09:30, and 10:30 p.m.
An excellent night can be had at any of these, or other cabaret shows on the island.
3. Go Clubbing at Ark Bar
The Ark Bar Beach Club is very close to the Divas Cabaret venue, so after enjoying the ladyboy shows there you can stroll to the Ark Bar and party the night away.
Always open until late (2 a.m.), this famous beachfront club has multiple bars where you can chill and have a refreshing drink, in addition to a dance floor where you can dance to a variety of great music played by international DJ’s. You’ll also have opportunities to meet and talk to new people here.
Every night at this venue there are, in addition, spectacular fire shows which you can watch if you get to the club between 08:00 p.m. and midnight.

4. Watch a Muay Thai Fight
Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand, and there are three stadiums hosting fight nights almost every day in Koh Samui.
As you’d know if you’re into fighting sports, watching a live fight can be an exciting experience. So to see professional fighters battle it out in the ring, head to the Chaweng Stadium, one of the most popular Muay Thai spots in Samui.
The fights here don’t disappoint, and the atmosphere during the events can only be described as phenomenal and highly entertaining.
Other Muay Thai venues you can check out in Samui are the Phetch Buncha Stadium, and the Samui International Muay Thai Stadium which was opened more recently.
5. Take a Sunset Cruise
Sunset cruises are one of many popular ways to pass time and appreciate nature in Koh Samui, so if you’d like to spend a memorable night out, take part in one.
On such a cruise, you can relax onboard an authentic Thai junk boat or a catamaran and enjoy the beautiful sunset views while cruising along the coast and beaches of Koh Samui.
You can choose from a variety of options, including private or group cruises with dinner and drinks included.
As one of the best after-dinner activities in Samui, a sunset cruise is ideal for couples due to its element of romance.
6. Enjoy a Rooftop Bar
If you’d like to sip a refreshing beverage while admiring views of your surroundings from a vantage point, try a rooftop bar.
Several hotels and bars in Koh Samui offer rooftop bars with stunning views of the island; and the Air Bar at the Intercontinental Samui is one of the most popular options with panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand.
There are many other such bars you can also visit, such as the Bamboo Bar and Woo Bar.
7. Relax with a Thai Massage
After a long day of exploring and partying, a good idea is to unwind with a traditional Thai massage during which the provider, while you lie on a mat, will manipulate your body in certain ways to stimulate organs and improve flexibility.
You can find several spas and massage parlors in Koh Samui, including the Urban Massage Spa and Pannarai Samui Massage, both in Bo Phut, and the Kanok Thai Massage Spa in Maret. These offer a variety of restorative treatments.
8. Enjoy a Fire Show
Fire shows are a mesmerizing spectacle of flames and music.
Traditional Thai fire shows typically feature one to eight performers who manipulate a variety of fire toys like swing clubs, fire guns, fire fans, and sticks, to the sound of music; in some cases, you can even interact or take photos with the performers.
Apart from the Ark Bar which we recommended earlier, many bars and beach clubs in Samui, such as the Elephant Beach Club in Chaweng, and Coco Tam’s in Fisherman’s Village, host nightly fire shows.
9. Take a Moonlit Stroll on the Beach
Koh Samui has quite a number of beautiful beaches, with some of the finest white sands in Thailand.
If you’re in Koh Samui with your partner, a moonlit stroll on the sand can be quite a romantic and peaceful way to end the night after dinner. Enjoy the calm atmosphere, cool breeze, and the lovely feel of soft sand on your feet as you take your leisurely walk under the gleam of moonlight.
These are just some, out of many, top things to do after dinner in Koh Samui. Now go out and have fun!
