Every year from May 16th to October 14th, the local authorities close the Similan islands, and Surin Marine National Park due to extreme weather during the monsoon months and in view of recovering the marine ecosystem.

It’s been 5 months that the Andaman Sea has been recovered since its annual closure from May 16th. Now is the time to reopen Similan and Surin Marine National Park and welcome visitors back with ‘New Normal’ policy.

Both Similan islands, and Surin Marine National Park are part of Phang-Nga Province and are more than 60 km off the coast. Given that Phang-Nga has no airport, the easiest way to get there is to fly to Phuket Airport then transfer to Thap Lamu Pier for traveling to Similan islands or Ban Nam Khem Pier for traveling to Surin Marine National Park.
