Big Buddha Koh Samui
With its height and shining golden statue, the Big Buddha Koh Samui can be witnessed its grandeur even when looking out of the plane window. Not only does it belong to Samui’s biggest buddha statue, this majestic 12-meter-tall golden statue is one of the largest Buddha images in Southern Thailand.
At platform area on which the Buddha sits, here visitors can overlook the beautiful Koh Pha Ngan, not to mention the sceneries of Bo Phut Beach and Bang Rak Beach close by that are to die for.
Built in 1972, the Big Buddha has since become a spiritual center among Samui residents. The Big Buddha Temple is in fact located on the small island of Koh Faan but thankfully the locals later collectively built a causeway connecting both islands that are 300 meters apart, making a visit convenient for everyone.
